I am pretty sure everyone that reads this will be doing the same thing that I am doing, why? We are are all quarantined and have had plenty of time to notice all of the “imperfections” in our home… or flaws within ourselves. When the outside world has quieted down, you have time to take a deeper look into ourselves and our surroundings. Are we going a little stir crazy? YES! However, when again in your life will God quiet the ENTIRE world so that you can rest and restore your life? Now is our time!!
I plan to update this post weekly (if not daily) with at least one thing that we as a family are doing around the house. Some days it may be something that I am doing individually, that I have pushed aside. Regardless, if you are looking to make progress, even a little bit at a time, see what we are up to! You might find some inspiration for your quarantine 🙂 Its also ok to just do nothing that day!
APRIL
1st- Homeschool Kick-Off!! Kiddos around the world have transitioned to distant learning. This was a huge milestone and one that I feel like we totally nailed on day one!! I find it to be a blessing that we are able to be home together and I am able to spend individual time with each kiddo!
We also organized the pantry, under the stove and above the ovens! This is a project that we have been putting off for a while!! YAY for organized pots and pans!

B: Waffles
L: Frozen Pizza
D: Crockpot Chicken Fajitas
2nd– Today was a harder day… I woke up with a rib out of place. Of course Chiropractors are not able to practice right now, so I spent most of the day resting. I would usually feel like this is a wasted day and feel down on myself. I will say that my mind did go there a time or two, however, I was able to actually REST!! I don’t know the last time I just rested. I did read some of my bible study and watched some videos… in addition to Father of the Bride Part 1 and Party 2. If you haven’t watched these in a while OR have never seen them… watch them! It will make you instantly happy!!
We also had homeschool day 2! Deacon had his first video chat and Novella completed an art project via face time with a friend from school! If you haven’t let your friends do a face time date with their friends, you are missing out. At Novella’s age, I would recommend that they do something together. For example, have them both do a youtube drawing video together 🙂
Back to the neck/shoulder/back pain. The best relief? Theragun!! HOLY COW that thing has made a HUGE difference in my recovery.

B: Chocolate Zucchini Muffins (Frozen from Costco, so yummy!)
L: Lunch Meat and Crackers
D: Chicken Piccata
3rd- Today was a little bit better! Deacon had his 4 year old well visit so we ventured out of the house. Had Chick-Fil-A for lunch, made delicious Pork Green Chili and celebrated (from the car) my father in laws b-day! It felt eventful and honestly, we didn’t even do much!
We hand delivered some yummy green chili to friends and family. As well as Bella’s AMAZING Chocolate Chip cookies!! She has made these twice over the last couple of weeks… they are the BEST cookies I have ever had. If you are looking to life spirits… do for someone else! Make them something (food, treats or a card) and drop it at someones door step. We have had some random door bell rings and it is the highlight of our day! Make someone smile 😉
B: Cereal
L: Chick-Fil-A
D: Green Chili and Chocolate Chip Cookies
4th- Happy Saturday!! We had some yummy cinnamon rolls- cooked in the waffle maker. I shared this on my feed and had lots of DM’s. I saw this about a year ago and I will never make the store bought cinnamon rolls (biscuits too!) in the oven. Less than 2 minutes and these babies are cooked and ready to enjoy 😉

To organize the house a little more today- we focused on dresser drawers!! We choose to do the “rolling” method. Tanks, t-shirts, pants, leggings, shorts… all of it! I am totally sold on the method. Novella’s room especially!! She can never find anything and her drawers were exploding. Now we have room and can see everything. Gosh, doesn’t it feel good to be organized 🙂
B: Waffle Maker-Cinnamon Rolls and Protein Shake with spinach for me 🙂
L: Chicken Wings (free delivery-door dash)
D: Balsamic, Broccoli and Sun dried tomato pasta with Chicken Sausage
5th- Happy Sunday!! We watched church online- if you are looking for something to watch from home- Flatirons Church does an amazing job!! You will love their current series.
Kiddos jumped in the jumping castle in the basement. We have had this for years and it comes in handy since we do not have an outdoor tramp. Rolls up tiny and kids love to play in there for hours!
Our nails needed attention. Today we painted the little girls nails and got dressed in pretty clothes and had fun with my Nikon camera. I rarely pull this out. I should do it more often but I don’t.
I updated my grocery list for the next two weeks. This has been super helpful for our family. Very basic- just go through pantry, fridge and freezer and come up with as many meals as possible. I aimed for 14 dinners, 14 lunches and a listed out food for breakfast and snacks. Once we make it, highlight it off! This allows for you to use what you have and make a list for ONE grocery run or delivery to fill your needs.
Also– if you are looking for a tasty dessert and you aren’t a baker OR your having a hard time finding ingredients…. Village Pie Maker pies are AMAZING!! They taste homemade and come frozen. Easy to order a couple and save them for when you want a little somethin’ somethin’
See our meals for the next 18 days below:

Lastly, this is for us mamas out there!! I spent some time giving myself a mini pedicure… best tip- cover your feet in Aquaphor or Vaseline and put socks on. Your feet will feel so soft!
B: Cereal
L: Chilaquiles for the adults and bean burritos for the kids
(made from leftover pork green chili and homemade tortilla chips)
D: BLT
